More than 400,000 people have joined the Dementia Friends movement, far exceeding initial expectations.
The Dementia Friends plan was launched by U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron in concert with the Alzheimer's Society.
The program is designed to change the way society thinks about dementia and persons living with dementia in the U.K.
The Health Secretary will announce this week that more than 400,000 members of staff from the corporate sector have joined the mass movement, which aims to reduce the stigma around the disease so that those suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease feel welcome in their communities.
